Chris Suda joined Abeles and Hoffman in 2026 as a Senior Manager, bringing nearly 30 years of public accounting experience to the firm. Working across the firm’s assurance and tax practices, Chris provides assurance, consulting, tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base. His experience includes retail, professional services, nonprofit, manufacturing, and construction organizations.

Chris is particularly experienced in leading large-scale assurance engagements and helping organizations strengthen their financial reporting and internal controls. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with CFOs, finance committees, and governing boards, advising them on complex accounting standards, risk mitigation, audit preparedness, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency. He also provides tax services to individuals and businesses and accounting and advisory services to retail and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to joining Abeles and Hoffman, Chris spent 29 years with a large nation-wide firm, where he directed a substantial portfolio of assurance engagements and was responsible for overall engagement success and client satisfaction. In addition to advising executive teams on financial reporting and operational matters, Chris helped organizations navigate the implementation of new GASB and FASB accounting standards and improve their financial readiness. He also built and led teams across audit, tax, and consulting disciplines, contributing to talent development, succession planning, and performance management within a growing national practice.

Colleagues know Chris as a reliable professional who approaches challenges with ingenuity and a willingness to explore new solutions. His personal service philosophy is simple: exceed expectations. He attributes much of his professional success to being willing to take chances, learn from mistakes, and continually apply those lessons to his work.

A St. Louis native, Chris first became interested in accounting through his high school accounting teacher, who was also a CPA. That early influence ultimately led him to pursue accounting at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and build a career in the profession.

Outside the office, Chris enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. A resident of Kirkwood, he also appreciates the St. Louis area's restaurant scene.

“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.”

– Theodore Roosevelt
