Meet Tammy Lanson, a CPA and a valuable member of the Abeles and Hoffman team. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austen and has spent more than three decades working as a professional in the accounting field. Tammy has served on the Abeles and Hoffman team since 1999. As a result of her wide-ranging knowledge and experience, she makes valuable contributions in both the Tax and Accounting and Audit practices. She is best known within the firm for reviewing and preparing tax returns including S-corps, partnerships, trusts, and individuals. She serves clients in the real estate, engineering, and photography sectors, among others. Additionally, Tammy performs audits, reviews, and compilations.

Tammy’s colleagues describe her as approachable and trustworthy. “I try to always treat others with respect, and I am willing to help out in all areas of the firm,” explains Tammy. When asked about her inspiration for pursuing a career in accounting, she responded, “My dad is also a CPA and inspired me to go into accounting.”

An active member of the professional community, Tammy is affiliated with the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Additionally, she devotes her talents to the service of the local community—since 2019 Tammy has served as treasurer of the B’nai Amoona Sisterhood.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, it’s no surprise that Tammy is a Green Bay Packers fan. However, she has had to cheer the team from afar ever since 1999, when she moved to St. Louis with her husband, David, and their two young sons. Tammy and David have been happily married for nearly three decades, and their sons are now both in their early twenties.

Tammy’s favorite features of St. Louis are its restaurants and its parks. She loves that the area offers easy access to pursuing her hobbies of pickleball, golf, hiking, and tennis. Not many people are aware that Tammy is a competitive tennis player. She also enjoys reading, and she recently got a kick out of binge-watching Ted Lasso. When Tammy has the opportunity to travel, her favorite destination is Aspen, Colorado.
