Rachael Huffman joined Abeles and Hoffman P.C. in October 2021 and serves as a Senior Tax Associate. In her role, Rachael provides tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base. She specializes in the real estate industry, state and local tax matters, and foreign income reporting. In addition to her client responsibilities, Rachael plays an active role in the firm’s intern training program, assisting with recruitment efforts and mentoring future professionals within the firm.

Rachael earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of North Texas, graduating cum laude in 2013. Her strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality client service make her a valued member of the AHCPA team.

Originally from Texas, Rachael and her husband, Tom, relocated to St. Louis in 2016. After a brief time in Oklahoma City, they returned permanently in 2021. With siblings spread across the country and growing families of their own, they cherish their tradition of gathering every other year for a week of travel, hiking, and exploring new destinations together. Family and adventure remain an important part of Rachael’s life outside the office.

  1. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? Finish my backlog of sewing/craft projects.
  2. What fictional place would you most like to visit? Middle Earth
  3. What is a new skill that you would like to master? Playing the ukulele
  4. What do you wish you knew more about? Recent (post-WWII) world history
  5. What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Indore, India for my sister’s wedding in 2013
  6. What question would you most like to know the answer to? Where do all the missing socks go?
  7. What is the most impressive thing you know how to do? I can recite pi to about 70 digits from cold memory, and over 125 with a little practice.
  8. What was the best compliment you’ve ever received? During the pandemic, several friends had their first child. I made many of them dolls, burp cloths and baby bibs. One friend wrote me a note that the bibs I made her were better than the store-bought ones she was given.
  9. What silly accomplishment are you most proud of? Completing an overnight hike solo.
  10. What is your favorite smell? Crisp, cool morning air.
  11. If you had a clock that would countdown to any one event of your choosing, what event would you want it to countdown to? The end of the world as we know it
  12. When was the last time you climbed a tree? Easter weekend of 2014. My family went for a hike in the local state park. At some point, my sister and I had a competition to see who could climb the highest. I forget who won, but it was a really fun day.
  13. What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten? Paan, an Indian digestive made from betel leaves.
  14. What was your first job? Lifeguard and swim instructor for the YMCA.
  15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? To be able to breathe underwater.
