Michelle Marler joined the Abeles & Hoffman team in 2018. One of her main focuses as a tax manager is performing corporate returns with multi-state filings for clients in the real estate, senior living facility, and manufacturing sectors. Additionally, Michelle works on individual, partnership, S-Corp, corporate, and sales tax returns.

An alumnus of the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Michelle graduated with a master’s degree in Accounting. During her time in school, she was a member of several honors societies, including the Golden Key International Honors Society, Beta Alpha Psi, and Beta Gamma Sigma. Michelle’s love of cheering on the Cardinals and spending time with her large group of family and friends are two of her favorite things about living in St. Louis.

Fun Questions

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Read books that I don’t currently have time for and fix up thing I need done around my house.

What fictional place would you most like to visit?
I don’t know of a specific fictional place, but somewhere that is peaceful and warm.

What is a new skill that you would like to master?
Plumbing…so I could make repairs on my house myself.

What do you wish you knew more about?
Marketing and social media so I could help my husband more with his company.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Spain and Africa between my Junior and Senior year of High School.

What question would you most like to know the answer to?
Why the government and people make the choices they do.

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
I am great at organizing just about anything.

What was the best compliment you’ve ever received?
“You are a great step-mom.”

What silly accomplishment are you most proud of?
Learning how to use a chop saw. I have been able to use this skill on 4 different mission trips to cut all the wood needed to build houses for widows in Joyabaj, Guatemala.

What is your favorite smell?
Anything that reminds me of my grandparents.  A dish soap, cooking bacon in a microwave, fresh-cut tomatoes from the garden, etc.

If you had a clock that would countdown to any one event of your choosing, what event would you want it to countdown to?
Meeting Jesus right before He was crucified.  Just to meet and talk to Him about all He went through and the amazing strength and courage He had.

When was the last time you climbed a tree?
During college…probably about 2003.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
Guinea Pig in Quito, Ecuador on my first Mission Trip.

What was your first job?
Lifeguard

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To be the Flash and be able to do things really fast. I may then actually catch up on my to-do list.
