Background:

Michele joined the Abeles & Hoffman team in 2012 and has been a valuable asset to the firm ever since. In her current capacity, she is responsible for supervising staff on client bookkeeping and financial statement preparation engagements and in the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns. She also prepares individual and business tax returns herself, and she works with clients who have foreign financial assets, reporting, and related delinquent reporting.

In 2006, Michele graduated magna cum laude from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She received the Presidential Award for Volunteering and earned the Southwest Missouri CPA Society Scholarship. Michele went on to attend the University of Utah, earning a Master of Accounting in 2010.

Michele has been married for 13 years and has three very active children. They lived in Park City, Utah for seven years before moving to St. Louis. Michele enjoys traveling and doing outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, and rafting. She spends most of her free time either at her kids’ gymnastics practice or gymnastics meets. Michele’s favorite thing about St. Louis is its wonderful parks.

I would love to spend the time baking.

I would love to learn to speak Italian.

Astrophysics—I am a space nerd!

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
I traveled to Italy and Switzerland.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
I can roll my tongue.

What was the best compliment you’ve ever received?
“You look like Sandra Bullock.”

What silly accomplishment are you most proud of?
I once beat three boys in a push-up contest.

What is your favorite smell?
I love the smell of pine needles.

When was the last time you climbed a tree?
Probably a year ago, with my son.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
I once tried cow tongue.

What was your first job?
A lifeguard. I also taught water aerobics.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The power to fly! (Although, I don’t think I would go very high…)
