What year did you join Abeles & Hoffman?
I joined Abeles & Hoffman in September of 2017. However, I have worked in public accounting since 2005.

What are your responsibilities at the firm? Please include any specific industries you serve.
My responsibilities include preparing and reviewing partnership, S Corporation, corporate, and individual tax returns.  I also do various research projects. I specialize in the construction and health care industries, with over 10 years of experience in both industries.

Tell us about where you attended college and the degree(s) you earned? Did you have any special accomplishments?
I attended Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri and received two bachelor’s degrees, one in Accounting and one in Finance.  I graduated in May of 2005.

What is your favorite thing about living in St. Louis?
My favorite thing about living in St. Louis is going to St. Louis Cardinal games. Go Cards!

Tell us a little about your family.
My husband’s name is Rick and we two children.  My son Anden is 11 and our daughter Isabelle is 1.  We also have a fur baby named Snickers.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I really enjoy my sleep, so I wouldn’t want to ever take that away.

What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Field of Dreams is my first thought. Would be fun to play baseball with some of the old legends.

What is a new skill that you would like to master?
I would like to learn how to cook! I am so thankful that my husband is a good cook.

What do you wish you knew more about?
I would love to know more about genetics.  It is fascinating to me.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Playa del Carmen, Mexico

What question would you most like to know the answer to?
I would really like to know if aliens exist.

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
How to pitch fast-pitch softball. I worked very hard as a kid and young adult to master that.

What was the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Being a good mom is the best compliment I have ever received.  It meant a lot to me.

What silly accomplishment are you most proud of?
Keeping track of my son’s crazy sports schedule. It’s not an easy task, for sure.

What is your favorite smell?
The smell of my baby right after she gets out of the bath.

If you had a clock that would countdown to any one event of your choosing, what event would you want it to countdown to?
I am not the kind of person who counts down to anything, I really try to enjoy the moment.

When was the last time you climbed a tree?
The last time I climbed a tree was probably about five years ago when my son went too high. I had to go get him down.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
I am not very adventurous when it comes to my food choices so I would say lefse is the most unusual food I have eaten.  It is a Norwegian potato flatbread.

What was your first job?
My first job, when I was 14, was a shake maker at Steak & Shake.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would love to be able to read other people’s minds as a superpower.  Could be fun!
