Charles joined Abeles & Hoffman in June of 2009.  In his role as a senior tax, Charles specializes in providing expert consulting and tax services for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. His specific area of service focuses on family partnerships.

 

Charles is a graduate of Fontbonne University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting as well as a Master of Science in Taxation.  In 2009, shortly after Charles received his master’s degree, he became a Certified Public Accountant. Living near St. Louis allows Charles to cheer for his favorite sports teams- The Blues and The Cardinals. In the cheering section with Charles is his wife, Betsy, and their four children, Patrick, Stephen, twins- William and Adelaide, and of course their dog, Gidget.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Sleep- I do not get much sleep now from two little toddlers.

What is a new skill that you would like to master?
Woodworking. I always like to fix things myself around the house.  I would like to be able to make custom cabinets for the kitchen.

What do you wish you knew more about?
I wish I knew how to swim.  When I was 5, I fell off a raft to the bottom of the pool and was scared for a while to get near a pool.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Curacao on our honeymoon.

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
I can play just about any sport.  I have played baseball, soccer, football, bowling, hockey, tennis, and basketball during my life.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Passing all 4 sections of the CPA exam on the first try.  Being elected into my college Athletic Hall of Fame.

What is your favorite smell?
Any bakery items

When was the last time you climbed a tree?
This week.  I cut down a 25-foot tree and had to climb the tree to hook the guide cable to the top.
