Is your company in the doldrums? It is easy for employees to become mired in the day-to-day grind of the business. If you are the owner or one of the top managers, it is your responsibility to perk things up.

Leadership is about motivating workers. They want to “feel good” about themselves and the company. Convey a sense of optimism about the future (but don’t go overboard or instill false security). Recognize employees who are doing their jobs well. A few simple pats on the back and a thank you can go a long way.

Recommit yourself to energizing the workforce. You should notice the mood begin to change for the better.
