As principal, she oversees tax planning, compliance, and business consulting for the firm’s C-Corporation, S-Corporation, partnership, trust, and high net worth individual tax clients. Kelley assists clients in numerous industries, with her main focus on the distribution, manufacturing, and personal services industries.

Kelley has become the firm’s specialist in compliance with Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FACTA).  She has experience with the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP), Streamlined Domestic Offshore Procedures (SDOP), Delinquent FBAR Submission Procedures, and the Delinquent International Information Return Submission Procedures.  In one instance, Kelley was able to assist a resident alien with 42 unreported foreign assets utilizing the SDOP which resulted in a savings of over $1 million in IRS penalties.

Before joining the firm, Kelley spent over a year at LaMear & Rapert, LLC providing individual and payroll tax returns, audits, compilations, reviews, and bookkeeping services for the firm’s clients. She began her career in accounting in 2004 at UHY Advisors.  Through the course of her career in the accounting field, Kelley has built a strong foundation of skills and knowledge, which are of benefit to both her clients and peers. She also contributed to a 2003 article entitled, “Retirement Savings Credit: Investing $1500 at a cost of only $284” for Tax Notes.

Kelley is a team player and is always willing to help others. These are two attributes that have helped her succeed at Abeles and Hoffman, which is why she is an integral part of the firm’s staff mentoring program.  In addition, she attributes her successful career to her supportive family and a former professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Kelley was inspired to pursue an accounting career after taking a class in high school.

Kelley currently lives in Arnold, Missouri, with her husband, two children. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her children, baking, fishing, and watching St. Louis Blues hockey.
